I saw my first bit of “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” around 1994 or 1995, when my Dad turned it on after we got home late from a Panthers hockey game on a Friday night. I was only 11, but I loved it, and luckily had parents who not long after let me stay up to watch on Friday nights.

Back then, Late Night with Conan O’Brien had only been on a year or two. A regularly appearing sketch actor was a very old man with a white beard whose name I can’t remember, but who died in the late 90′s. The set was mustard brown, and Conan’s job security was less than assured.
